Chie Sato is an Author/Consultant/TV Personality with several best-selling publications in Japan. Sato has written numerous articles for newspaper, magazines, and online media, and has given lectures related to business schools, global leadership and business management. Sato has appeared on TV news shows as a commentator.
Before becoming independent in 2012, Sato was a creative executive at one of the largest TV networks in the world, responsible for its programming and production of a Japanese TV channel. As an Executive Producer, Sato launched numerous hit kids shows in Japan, including comedy, game shows and music shows.
Prior to that, Sato was a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, where she advised major Japanese and global corporations on their strategies from 2001 to 2003. With her expertise in Communication, Media and Entertainment, Sato consulted for major companies on their strategies.
Before joining BCG, Sato was a TV producer/director at NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation. At NHK, Sato produced numerous documentaries, news programs, and entertainment programs for seven years.
Sato has published many books since 1993, most of which are best sellers in Japan. Her numerous publications, including “How Best Global Leaders Build Resilience”(PHP Institute 2014), have been published in Korea and Taiwan.
She has been an interviewer for Columbia Business School Admissions Office since 2004.She has also served as an Accreditation Committee of Japan University Accreditation Association since 2014.
Sato holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from The University of Tokyo.
